Study on the Effect of Acupuncture , Moxibustion and Laser Beam Acupuncture upon the Renal Tubule Damages in Rat

Abstract

|
In order to study the effect of acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture on the renal tubule damages induced by cephaloridine, each stimulation was applied at the loci of Soo-bun(CV_9), Myung-mun(GV₄) and Ji-sil(B_(52)). Urinary volume urinary fibrin and fibrinogen degradation products, urinary alkaline phosphatase activity, urinary protein, blood urea nitrogen level, serum creatinine level, serum alkaline phosphatase activity, serum sodium level and serum potassium level were measured in each experimental group.
The following results have been obtained.
1) Urinary volume was increased effectively by laser beam acupuncture to each locus of Myung-mun and Ji-sil respectively as well as stimulation by acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture to the 3 loci together of Soo-bun, Myung-mun and Ji-sil with significant value.
2) Urinary fibrin and fibrinogen degradation products were decreased effectively at the loci of Ji-sil by acupuncture, Myung-mun by laser beam acupuncture and 3 loci simultaneous stimulation by each acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture.
3) Urinary alkaline phosphatase activity represented the decrease at the loci of Myung-mun by acupuncture and moxibustion respectively, each Myung-mun and Ji-sil by laser beam acupuncture and 3 loci treated simultaneously by each acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture.
4) Urinary protein was showing valuable decreasing tendency at the locus Myung-mun by acupuncture, each Myung-mun and Ji-sil by moxibustion, each Soo-bun, Myung-mun and Ji-sil by laser beam acupuncture and 3 loci simultaneously treated by acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture respectively.
5) The level of blood urea nitrogen was effectively decreased at each locus of Myung-mun and Ji-sil by moxibustion, Myung-mun by laser beam acupuncture and 3 loci simultaneously treated by acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture respectively.
6) The concentration of creatinine in the serum of the rats were decreased at Myung-mun and 3 loci stimulation by acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture respectively.
7) Serum alkaline phosphatase activity represented the valuable increase at each locus of Myung-mun and Ji-sil treated by moxibustion, Myung-mun by laser beam acupuncture and 3 loci simul taneously treated by moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture respectively.
8) The level of serum potassium and serum sodium did not reveal any valuable changes.
According to the above results, the loci of Soo-bun, Myung-mun and Jisil indicated the therapeutic effect on the renal tubule damages in rats by acupuncture, moxibustion and laser beam acupuncture, and it is recognized that the combination of acupuncture points would lead to different results. At this experiment, 3 points combination showed the most effective result.
